Question regarding old posts in the classifieds

Hi Guys,
What do you all think is a fair amount of time to leave an add in these classifieds for before pissing it off into cyber space?.
Main reason being there are now 26 pages of For Sale items, which means that every day, one of the mods has to search through them every day to move the sold posts and some of them are now more than 6 months old
I suggest we keep the items for sale no longer than 1 month, if they haven't sold by then, we piss them off and if they are still for sale, put them up again at a reduced price.
Same for the Archive, anything in there gets culled after 1 month as there is no need to keep it longer than that.
Good idea?.
Edited to change to one month

Just my opinion, I reckon a month is long enough plus it'll make your job easier. We can always relist it if it hasn't sold after that anyway.

Whichever is easier to write some script for.

Totally agree, 30 days or 1 month is adequate.

4 weeks is enough - 28 days from date of post and it disappears - the seller can re-list at a revised price. Automatic notification to the seller that it's been delisted - whatever's easy? That way the Mods shouldn't have to check at all.

The good thing about getting a new rifle to fill a calibre gap - you create 2 new calibre gaps!
Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Mick I have a question.
Can a thread be downloaded ?
For example I have an ad for a .410 in, which took a while to piss around with getting photo code etc in place.
If I could download it, then upload again later or cut and paste the code, or something then if it was deleted it wouldn;t be the end of th world.

I agree with landy, if a notification goes to the member can the add be attached. Remember be gentle as I know SWA about this sort of shit. If the add disappears that might be all that you have on it and then you have to reconstruct the whole add.

... just getting at the ads that are well over-priced ... cant comment on them as its inpolite ... but they sometimes just keep being refreshed.
I'd think $10,000 a fair price on a SMLE on Used Guns.
Cheers...

Regarding pics,
Is there a chance we can have something like ebay has on their site?
It just automatically uploads a pic from your stored pics to the correct size.
I have 7 different programs (all expired) for this resizing nonsense. Its a PITA, it would be great if we could do the same thing for posting pics in a post too.
